Does the blackberry torch automatically covert long SMS to MMS like the X10 does?

I have a Sony Ericsson X10 it automatically converts long SMS messages to MMS. I don't like this - yes !!!! enough to bin my X10. Looking for a replacement hand set that will just send my long or multiple SMS messages as I write or forward them. Will the Blackberry Torch do this ?
