What would be a good cheap amplifier head that can deliver good classic tone?

I've been looking for a good amp head to buy for a reasonable price. I really love the sound of VOX amps but their heads are way to expensive for me. Can someone just give me a good sized list of amplifier heads that can deliver that same kind of incredible tone for a reasonable price?
