Getting published in an Academic Journal?

Start by reading papers in that journal to figure out what kind of research they publish, and the level of it. They usually require something original. Try talking to a professor about getting published, but keep in mind some fields require many months or years of work before getting something publishable, and then up to a year or more to get it published after submitting it.
