What are easy Mods in a 66 mustang.?

I'm always researching things on a 66 mustang and I wanted to know what are easy mods or installations to it to increase it's hp and torque....it's a v8 289...how much hp and torque should I aim for? Should I want higher torque ?....what brands should I be looking under? Just all the little things that make a good car.
