Why Does My Guitar Recording Sound So Bad?

I am using a Vox ToneLab ST through a USB cable to Audacity. My distorted sounds are really bad. When I play the ToneLab through my Peavy Vypyr 30 though, it sounds fine. I have tried many different combinations and they all sound bad in Audacity. Any ideas on why this is happening? Thanks in advance!
