How can I get some gainy sound on a Vox AC30?

I've seen video on YouTube about the AC30, I looked up AC302(Honestly I'm not sure if it's a AC30c2 because I only 'AC302' on the tag) and the people with those amps sound like it has gain because their amp sound is thick, I couldn't get that sound with the AC30 I tried out, is there something I'm supposed to add to it like a certain pedal or effect to it?
