My blackberry Storm wont let me open up my text messages?

every other thing when i touch it, it opens its destinstion.but when i click on my sms and mms it wont do anything.it highlights like its being touched, but remains on my home screen.and then all of a sudden, a white error screen popped up and my phone restarted completely to where its the blackberry loading screen with the load bar at the bottom.how can i fix it?it was working this morning.
